EYES WIDE OPEN: PPG mostly led to tax hike

The borough's deficit for 2006 is $1.3 million, or one-third of what PPG promised in yearly tax revenue. I've said it before, and I'll continue to say it until I am blue in the face: Five years ago, PPG mouthpiece John MacPhee said, "It's like opening a drawer every Friday, pushing a button and having $75,000 in there."
