Fools Gould

Posted by Mr. Ellsworth Toohey in

The library question was posed. Josh Gould was the only unequivocal yes vote for the board to vote yes and accept Second Avenue. All previously declared candidates said they would not vote to accept the Second Avenue "donation". Jan Potts was not there at the time the question was posed. A write-in candidate, Pattison said he would accept but recommended that the board and the library foundation discuss expansion plans before continuing on its present course.

Be sure to ignore GOuld and Pattison today.

Maybe you agree with Josh Gould about the library expansion plans. But how could anyone concerned about taxes and fiscal responsibility watch Josh Gould say at a school board meeting that we should increase the library funding this year to a greater amount because that's what we did for the other parts of the budget?
That kind of argument - where you decide to increase one part of the budget just because other parts require an increase (and you've slashed or cut other services) -
do you want someone who puts forth that type of thinking deciding your tax bill?
