The house just voted down the bailout bill by a vote of 205 (140 D- 65 R) to 228 (95D - 133 R). If you take a look at the vote and exclude the political leadership of both parties, this was an ideological vote with the Liberal and Conservative sides voting against the bill. Congressman Gerlach voted against the bill while Congressman Sestack voted for it. The real question is what now. I don't think the stock market will sit around and wait for both sides to hash this thing out. I would love to hear the reasoning for both of the above mentioned votes.
