Dinniman, Kantrowitz debate over business

Posted by Mr. Ellsworth Toohey

Though the Phoenix never stated that this was an ass whooping, I think we can all imagine. One line that stood out was:

Kantrowitz barely mentioned alternative-energy development, instead focusing on cutting taxes and drilling for natural gas.

Probably a bad year not to mention alternative energy. By contrast:

Dinniman said conservation is a key part of any energy plan and economic growth and alternative energy growth go hand-in-hand. "There is no contradiction between being pro-environment and pro-business," Dinniman said

Love him or hate him, the guy knows how to grease a crowd.

Yes, the Professor knows how to grease a crowd - he's been telling people anything they want to hear for 30 years. The real question is which of the two candidates is capable of actually accomplishing something? The professor has a long record of talking, The Admiral has a long record of getting things done. Do we need more talk in Harrisburg? Or, do we need action?

The choice is clear - we need a man of action with a record of getting things done! Steve Kantrowitz is that man.

Hooray for Andy Dinniman, one of the Hardest Working Public Servants (and yet Politician) out there.

Phoenixville and Chester County is indeed blessed to have him!

I think that the point of my post was not to assess the effectiveness of their legislative skills but more to point out how seemingly out of touch one of them was in terms of their energy policy. Your job was to pick out the one that seemed out of touch. One of the above posters appears to have made the wrong choice.

While I like Andy, I believe that anyone spending 30yrs on the public tit is too long! We need term limits.

Sen. Dinniman was elected to the Senate 2 years ago. He has not ever served out a full term.

Dinniman doesn't know the first thing about alternative energies because he doesn't know the first thing about energy. He is a politician, and like all politicians, he tells fancy stories that make people feel good.

When politicians get involved they always screw things up. It happens because decision are made with political calculations instead of good business or good engineering.

When politicians get too much power, like Chavez in Venezuela, they end up destroying the industries they control. Venezuela now produces far less oil than they did when they nationalized the oil industry. Currently, they are having national blackouts since they nationalized the electric generation industry.

Venezuela may be the extreme, but it is the trend that concerns me. Keep the politicians out of business. Keep them out of engineering. They don't know what they are talking about.
