“When the (Phoenix) steel company closed 30 years ago, no one realized in 10 years, we would all be jobless and our downtown would be in ruins.”

“In order to finish this out, we need to focus. We're going to give people the sense that Phoenixville is a dynamic place to live, work and play.”

“It's where artisans will come together and create one-of-a-kind things. If you want one-of-a-kind things you've got to come to Phoenixville.”

“To be able to recruit a West Chester-based corporation and have them open a location in Phoenixville shows that Phoenixville is the place to be.”

What's your point with this one?

Does there need to be a point? Have you read some of the stuff on this blog before? I had memorials for 2 classic porn stars. Why? What was the point? Maybe somebody cares.

i think 6:47 was addressing the 2:32 poster but don't "quote" me on that.

The best was, “It's kind of hard to believe. I can't believe it myself.”

I just don't get it. And what's with the 2 pornstars reference? I don't care if you "erect" memorials for pornstars.

You don't find it odd that these inane quotes from a small town figurehead are memorialized in a global quote directory? That's odd.

It's not odd to see quotes from locals in there.

Anyone who knows about the site can add quotes, their own if they wish.

Who's the small town figure head you speak of?

Come on folks, it's Manny. Look, I personally think Manny is a nice guy but he definitely has an ego. Hell, he'd tell you that himself. Actually, he'd think this whole thing is funny, the fact that people are bored enough to chat about a local small town developer.

Just as a side note: isn't this whole blog one in the same with the quotations from Manny? Just an ego feed. How's the pandering for votes going Toohey?
