Why is it that the US can airlift $1 billion (taxpayer money) to the needy people in Iraq within 48 hours but the needy people in the US have to wait months for any help. The Republicans had no problem shelling out billion to Iraq but when it comes to spending in their own country they are so concerned about"wasteful spending". Do those morons in Congress actually think that the US people don't remember the lackluster economy we have all enjoyed over the past 8 years because of Republican rule? Do they think that opposing spending is the way to go? Do they think that tax cuts will miraculously fix the economy against the prediction of hundreds of economists?
This is a massive global problem that is striking every country on the planet. The Russian stock exchange has lost 75% of its value since last summer. Iceland is experiencing 18% unemployment, 17% inflation and rioting in the streets. Let's do something crazy and spend our way into an economic power that is less reliant on foreign sources of energy and foreign money to carry our debt.
Or, we could just fuck around while Rome burns.
