Royersford to discuss park for skateboarding
This is thinking about the future. This is thinking that the needs of our youth go beyond liability scares and the fears of useless recreation. This is adult elected officials seeing that there is a need for active recreation within their community and asking the public for a committee to study it.
I always thought this would be a good niche market for a town. West Chester has one of the best Skate Shops (Fairmans) in PA. We could have a kick ass skate park and invite a skate shop to open in Phoenixville. (Then we can all complain about the kids. It will give us something to do). THe real problem is that these issues usually pop up through problems with skateboarding and it is left up to a group of kids to organize these movements towards skatepark building. I think we should bypass the usual chaos of all that crap and start discussing it at the next Rec. Committee meeting.
