From Today's Phoenix: What I cannot condone is the manner in which the Holy Ghost Church leadership has gone about its very public task. What I cannot condone is the imposition by spiritual authority of private punishment for the sin of speaking in public about a public matter in which the Church itself was a player.
What I cannot condone are private consequences of public actions so severe that those who dared to dissent are, or are threatened to be, separated from the geography that gives their lives their meaning.
