Easing your way into a sea of fraud?
Posted by Mr. Ellsworth Toohey in Corruption, Evans, Holy Ghost
When AT&T came to Holy Ghost Church and asked nicely for a communication easement on the Holy Ghost property, they were very gracious. They signed over the easement for a sum of $10, filed the paperwork and went on with their daily lives. But there is a hitch. The grantor is the Saint Nicolas Brotherhood, which is the rightful property owner but the signature is Mr. John J. Bilanin who claims to be the 1st Vice President. Ms. Kathy L. Phifer notorized the document saying that he was authorized to represent the property owner. The Brotherhood claims that Mr. Bilanin is not the 1st Vice President and thus cannot enter into an agreement like this. The date of the easement was 6/20/08. I will post the document later today but if you are so inclined, you can get on the recorder of deeds website and get a copy for yourself. The document id is #10906981 Here is where it could really get sticky. AT&T filed this from their office in Atlanta, Ga. If there was in fact a fraud committed, wouldn't it be a federal case since it crossed state lines? Discuss. |
